TRENTON – Marilyn S. Robbins, age 86, passed away peacefully on Aug. 17, 2016 in Bangor. She was born on Aug. 23, 1929, in Winthrop, a daughter of the late Vernie Sprague and the late Marguerite (Jackson) Sprague. After graduating from Winthrop High School, Marilyn joined the workforce. She married Gordon E. Robbins and was committed to being a homemaker to her family. She was a member of the PTA and the Lioness Club. Marilyn enjoyed painting with oil paints and watercolors, working outdoors, music, dancing and cooking. She was a talented seamstress and excellent marksman.
She is survived by her children, Keith G. Robbins and wife, Nancy, Jay L. Robbins and wife, Laurel, and Judith A. Robbins and partner, Jon Carter; grandchildren, Michael and Amanda Robbins, Jerry and Cary Harper, Marie and Grace Robbins; great-grandchildren, Gary and Cody Harper, Hannah and Hayden Harper; sisters-in-law, Barbara Sprague and Carol Wills; and several nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Gordon E. Robbins; brother Merle Sprague; and sister Martha Dodge.
Special thanks to the caregivers of the Winterberry Heights Memory Care Center in Bangor, where she lived for the last year and thank you also to Beacon Hospice of Bangor.
