Lynne M. Raimondo
Lynne M. Raimondo, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 12. She was born April 21, 1957, in New York, N.Y., to Joseph R. and Janice (Heide) Raimondo.
Lynne graduated from St. Joseph by the Sea High School in Staten Island, N.Y., and received both a B.A. and J.D. from New York University. She met her husband of 34 years, Stanley Parzen, in Chicago, and they settled in Evanston, Ill., where they raised three children together. In 2011, Lynne achieved a lifelong dream of purchasing a home on Mount Desert Island, where she made many dear friends.
Lynne had two successful careers, first as an attorney and then as an author. She was a partner at Mayer Brown LLP and then became general counsel of Arthur Andersen and of the Illinois Department of Revenue before turning her attention to writing. She published three mystery novels, “Dante’s Wood,” “Dante’s Poison” and “Dante’s Dilemma.” She was also an excellent cook and an accomplished watercolorist. She was most happy when hiking the trails of her beloved Acadia National Park.
Lynne is survived by her husband, Stanley, her three children Kendra, Jacob and Tamsin Parzen, her father, Joseph Raimondo, her sisters Louise Raimondo (Jim Gaffney) and Sandra Berg and her nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private remembrance service at their home. Gifts in Lynne’s memory may be made to the Jesup Memorial Library in Bar Harbor (jesuplibrary.org). Condolences may be expressed at www.jordanfernald.com.
