Louisa B. Lobkowicz Mead

Waterville

Oct. 1, 1958 – July 15, 2020

On Wednesday, July 15, 2020, Louisa B. Mead, loving mother of two, passed away unexpectedly at her residence in Waterville.

Lisa was born Oct. 1, 1958, in Boston, Mass. She was the daughter of Dominik N. P. Lobkowicz and Louise B. Strandberg. She was a 1976 graduate of Douglas County High School in Gardnerville, Nev. Lisa worked in the hospitality business in both Colorado and Maine until purchasing a children’s clothing boutique called Animal Crackers in Northeast Harbor. She successfully ran the business from 1993 until 2004. Later in her career, Lisa provided aid and caretaking support to those in her local community. Lisa enjoyed tennis and swimming as well as watching her son’s and daughter’s sporting events throughout the years. Lisa shared and passed on a strong passion for music to both of her children. She was an animal lover and enjoyed traveling and collecting treasures that she would share with her children. Spending time with her children was the greatest joy of her life.

Lisa was predeceased by her father, Dominik, and mother, Louise. She is survived by her two children, Sean Parady of Bar Harbor and Tia Parady of Portland; brothers, Nicholas Lobkowicz of Vinalhaven and Tom Lobkowicz of Reno, Nev.; sister, Gillian Lobkowicz of Granville, Ohio; six nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.

Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of sending flowers, contributions may be made to either Island Connections or the Southwest Harbor SPCA, two of Lisa’s favorite services.

Know when to pay your respects.
