Kenneth C. Boschert Sr.,

flagBASS HARBOR — Kenneth C. Boschert Sr., 76, died Feb. 6, 2015 at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born Dec. 25, 1938, in St. Charles, Mo., the son of Elmer J. and Frances V. (Engholm) Boschert.

Ken served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1958 to 1978. After his retirement, he moved to Florida and worked for nine years at Wackenhut Security Systems and Services at the Florida Power and Light in Ft. Pierce, Fla., guarding the nuclear power plant. He moved back to Maine, where he worked for EBS for several years then finally found his dream job — driving the Swans Island School Shuttle. He was a member of the Manset Union Church.

Ken is survived by his wife, J. Lynn (Lepley) Boschert; daughter, Suzanne Williams and husband, Randy, of Ellisville, Mo.; son, K. Chris Boschert Jr. of Bar Harbor; two stepdaughters: Betsy Power Corrigan and husband, David, of Bar Harbor and Beverly Power Sneider and partner, Keith Darley, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; brother Butch Boschert and wife, Suzy, of Troy, Mo.; nine grandchildren; many nieces nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a daughter, Gail Tipton, brother, Elmer “Sonny” Boschert; two sisters, Shirley Mae Boschert and Carol Bickmeyer; a wife, Jane (Hodgkins)Boschert.

Friends are invited to call 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main Street, Mount Desert, where funeral services will follow at 3 p.m.
