Keith Stimson Muzzy Jr., fondly remembered as Kit Muzzy, 68, of West Tremont, died of a heart attack Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, in his home. He was the son of the late Keith S. Muzzy Sr and Isabel J. (Burnett) Muzzy.
Kit was born on May 6, 1950, in Holden, Mass. He moved to Mount Desert Island after graduating from New England College in Henniker, N.H. He worked as a carpenter and eventually created his own business doing carpentry, property care taking, snow plowing and field mowing.
Although Kit was a private individual, he was well known for being reliable, honest, loyal and hard working. He set a high standard for the quality of his work and always followed through with his promises. He was loved and respected by many. In his later years he also enjoyed being an active member of the Footloose Friends local hiking group. He was honored to serve on the group’s committee board.
Kit is survived by his two sons, True Muzzy and his wife, Lyubov Khoroshko, of Pittsburgh, Pa., Jeremiah Chaplin of Belfast; his two daughters, Sarah Muzzy and her husband, Tony Lim, of Medford, Mass., Kate Muzzy of Southwest Harbor; his brother, Greg Muzzy, and sisters, Gail Perkins and Kathy Muzzy; his two grandchildren, Isla Lim and Victoria Muzzy, and his dear friend, Rita Redfield.
There will be a private memorial service for close family in the spring.
