JoAnn C. Cantwell, 88, died Jan. 4, 2018, in Bar Harbor. She was born May 31, 1929, in Trenton, the daughter of Warren P. and Agnes (Marshall) Curtis.
She is survived by two daughters; Alicia Mellow and husband, Victor, of Greenville, S.C. and Agnes Anderson of Sanford, Maine. One brother, Rodney Curtis and wife, Ann, of Phoenix, Ariz., one sister, Althea Higgins and husband, Peter, of Madison, Conn., nine grandchildren; Christopher Sawyer, Jennifer (Sawyer) Richardson, Heather (Sawyer) Bogolyubova, Carrie (Mellow) Larson, Cristin (Mellow) Davis, Timothy Anderson, Kathleen (Anderson) Cote, Sarah Anderson and Patrick Anderson. Twenty-two great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, many nieces and nephews.
JoAnn was predeceased by her husband, James Cantwell, daughter, Marcia Sawyer, sister, Jean Frost and brother, Michael Curtis.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and residents of Sonogee for taking such good of JoAnn.
Graveside services will be held, Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Bar Harbor.
