Gregory Tyler Gray

BROOKLIN — Gregory Tyler Gray died unexpectedly, but peacefully, on May 19, 2017, at his home in Brooklin. He was 63 years old.

Greg was born on Nov. 17, 1953, to the late Sheldon and Jane Gray in Oceanside, N.Y. On May 25, 2002, he married Nancy Ann Norwood Gray at Flye Point in Brooklin. He was a father, a husband, a brother, a son, a craftsman, a captain, a music lover, a storyteller, a friend and a faithful Christian.

Family was the most important thing in his life paired with his religious beliefs; the two complemented one another, strengthening his love for God and his family. He participated in multiple volunteering opportunities in every community he lived in, including being an active member in the Winterport Lions Club for many years along with his wife, Nancy.

Greg was a loving, kind, gentle and patient soul who was a great support to all of those in his life. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Gray (and their dog Lucas), his daughters Meaghan Allen (son-in-law Brandon Allen), Elizabeth Gray and Gretchen Lescord and his son, Bryan Lescord (partner Tarsha Astbury), his brothers William Gray and wife, Catherine, and Timothy Gray and wife, Angela. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and a grandnephew. While Greg did not have grandchildren, he is survived by his grand dogs, whom he loved and enjoyed, Kida Allen and Winnifred Lescord.

The family wants to extend their appreciation to all of the recent thoughts and prayers from Greg’s many well-wishers and a special thanks to the local volunteer fire service EMTs for their prompt and professional response as well as to the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and family friends who have offered generous support.

A celebration of life will be held at Brooklin Baptist Church, 22 Bayside Road, Brooklin, on Sunday, May 28, at 2:30 p.m.

Know when to pay your respects.
