Esther C. Testa, 95, died Feb. 19, 2020, in Bar Harbor. She was born in Bar Harbor, April 22, 1924, a daughter of James Robie and Mary Louise (Vance) Hodgkins.
She attended schools in Bar Harbor and earned an associate degree from Westbrook Junior College. She worked at several businesses including AB & JR Hodgkins, Frenchman’s Bay Motel and Sonogee Estates.
Esther was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Harold “Tubby” Collier (1944-1979), and husband Michele Testa Jr. (1981-1994). Esther was a lifelong member of the Bar Harbor Congregational Church. She was also a member of the MDI Hospital Auxillary and Kebo Valley Golf Club, and, in her early years, was a Cub Scout den mother.
She is survived by sons, Robert V. Collier and wife, Patricia, Richard V. Collier and wife, Claudia, all of Bar Harbor, John R. Collier and wife, Susan, of Mount Desert; stepchildren, Anna Striefel, Cathie Slick, Judy Storey and Thomas Testa. Grandchildren, Dean, Sandy, Carrie, Melissa, Jay, Lesley and spouses; great-grandchildren, Kendra, Dillan, David, Camden, Brady, Carly, Nina, River and Scarlett; and many nieces and nephews. Esther was predeceased by sisters, Carol Carney, Mary Paquet and stepson, Michele Testa III.
A spring graveside service will be held in Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor.
