NORTHEAST HARBOR — Elizabeth F. Peabody, 87, died of cancer at home on Sept. 20, 2015, in Northeast Harbor after a brief illness. She was born on April 3, 1928, outside Philadelphia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs William West Frazier.
Elizabeth graduated from Westover School in Connecticut and the Philadelphia College of Art, and then later Boston University.
She had a successful career as an artist and was an award-winning sculptor. She exhibited widely across New England. Elizabeth also loved gardening and collecting antiques.
She travelled extensively to England, Hawaii and Vermont to stay with her daughters and annually on painting pilgrimages to Bermuda and Italy.
Elizabeth was married to Michael Wall in 1952 until they divorced in 1975; and later to the late John D. Peabody for over 20 years. They lived in Hancock N.H., San Miguel, Mexico, and summered at Merchants Island in Maine.
Elizabeth is survived by her three daughters Alexandria Worsham, Melina White, Hannah Bayne-Powell; and son Michael A. P. Wall; as well as three stepchildren Jack Peabody, Alexander Peabody and James Peabody; four step-grandchildren and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and many close dear friends.
A service of remembrance will be held in Northeast Harbor Maine next summer.
