Edwin (Bub) Val Donovan left this Earth on June 5, 2020. He was the son of Edwin U. Donovan and Arlene Marie Nice Donovan. He was a resident of Courtland Rehab Center of Ellsworth.
Bub was a man of very few words, but if you started asking about his grandchildren, he had the happiest face ever. He was in the U.S. Air Force for 16 years. His jobs were in refueling from driving trucks and also on the KC135. His job took him through many countries. After the service, he came back to his life on MDI. Then he began lobstering once again, which was his passion until many years later.
Bub is survived by his son, Phillip, and his adopted son, Dewayne Donovan; his grandchildren, Courtney, Harlee, Sophia and Max; great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Kendrick; stepchildren, Kenny and Chris Webber; ex-wife, Jean Leathers; brother, Roland Donovan Sr.; and sister, Jeanie Donovan. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Bub was always put first by his son Philip’s ex-wife, Sarah Oleson, who always made him feel special.
He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia; son, Greg; and daughter, Linda. They all died from a boating accident in Alabama while he was stationed in Okinawa. Also by his brother, Richard.
Bub will be missed by many and all of his old former beano pals around the area. We love ya!!
