Dianne L. (McKay) Watson, 71, died on Dec. 30, 2018, after a long illness. Dianne was born on Jan. 13, 1947, to Katherine L. McKay and John E. McKay in East Orange, N.J.
She lived 50 years as a year-round resident on Mount Desert Island. Dianne loved Acadia National Park — hiking as many trails as possible.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Watson; son, Jason Watson; son-in-law, Ian Voparil; daughter in-law, Bobby Williams; grandsons Reider, Cole, Harper and Karsten; brother, Jack McKay; sister-in-law, Leslie Gallagher; sister-in-law Martha McKay, and five nieces and nephews and their families. Her brother, Don McKay; her father, John E. McKay; and her mother, Katherine L. McKay, predeceased Dianne.
A small service to celebrate her life will be held this summer. Donations in her memory can be made (with note “In Memory of Dianne L. Watson”) to Cure PSP (https://www.psp.org/) or Friends of Acadia (http://friendsofacadia.org/giving-membership/give-a-gift-in-honor-or-memory/).
