David Dwayne Lewis, 63, passed away unexpectedly at his home Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018. He was born in Bar Harbor on Feb. 13, 1955, son of Chester A. and Marjorie (Spurling) Lewis.
He was better known as Dave to all his family and friends. Dave was a very loving and caring man. He loved his family very deeply.
He is survived by his wife, Edora (Edie) M. (Hooper) Lewis; daughter Samantha Lee Ash (Lewis) and husband, Andrew, of Penobscot; son David (DJ) Dwayne Lewis Jr. of Ellsworth. Dave is also survived by his 10 siblings; Sandra Meier of Crystal River Florida; Jamie Lewis and wife Roxanne of Seal Cove; Johnna Stewart and husband, Bob, of Lucerne; Chet Lewis Jr. and partner Sharon Lawson of Trenton; Janet Lewis Mitchell and husband, Gardner, of Southwest Harbor; Priscilla Lewis of Mississippi; Sharon Richardson and husband, John, of Franklin; Sally Beatle and husband, Tom, of Seattle and Lucille Grant and husband, George, of Newport; Dave’s aunt, Elaine Spurling of Gray; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Bobby Kelley, Steve Norwood, Arthur Miller and Dana Higgins and many more. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Keith (Bo) Lewis.
There will be a graveside service at Woodbine Cemetery in Ellsworth on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. A celebration of life will be held after the service and the location will be announced at the service.
