SOUTHWEST HARBOR – Connie Jean Boyington Adler passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on June 10, 2016, after a brief and bravely fought battle with cancer.
Connie was born March 26, 1951, at Mount Desert Island Hospital, the daughter of Baxter Lawrence and Barbara Lanpher Boyington. She attended school in Southwest Harbor, and graduated from Mount Desert Island High School in 1970. In later years, Connie was an integral part of special events and projects for the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Program for over 20 years.
Her final years were in Murfreesboro to be close to her children, grandchildren and recently a great-grandson. She loved her family, making handmade gifts for all, taking care of others, and being the heart and soul of her family. She will be missed by the many friends she made everywhere she went, and especially her family.
Connie was predeceased by her father in 1991, and her mother April 18, 2016. She is survived by her husband, Kim Adler; daughter Stephanie Byrne and her partner, Randy, both of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; her son Shane Bickford and his partner, Carlene of Brewer, sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Art Corliss of Ellsworth, grandchildren, Justin, Sierrah, and Rochelle, and the love of her life, great-grandson, Heydan, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her and her mother’s lives will be celebrated 2 p.m., July 3, at Malvern Belmont, Bar Harbor. Family and friends are welcome.
