Charlie served in the United States Army from October 1952 to September 1954, and served in Germany during that time. Charlie, a lifelong resident of Bar Harbor, enjoyed a life as a chef and piano player in Florida as well as Bar Harbor. His music was heard around the island in places like the Jordan Pond House. He was frequently seen walking the carriage paths and swimming at Echo Lake. He assisted many people through his avid commitment to AA and hosting AA meetings. He always enjoyed being with people and telling stories of the island’s history. His smile warmed many hearts.
