Carroll W.Butler Sr. (Cack)
Dec. 15, 1945 – Aug. 12, 2017
Carroll W. Butler, known to many as Cack, passed away after a long battle with cancer. He lived a long, adventurous life, and made friends everywhere he went. He worked and lived most of his on the ocean; it was his favorite place to be. Cack was a kind and loving man with a huge heart, and he loved his equally huge family very much. He enjoyed gardening (he could make anything grow). He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a big soft spot for animals, especially dogs. He especially loved babies (puppies, kittens, chicks, etc.), not snakes; he hated snakes. But his huge family was what he loved the most. He will most likely be remembered for his big heart, his compelling storytelling and belting out country songs. He loved to sing to his soul mate of 33 years, Susan E. Corliss. You could always tell when he was truly happy — he would break out in song.
Carroll was predeceased by his parents, Harley and Agnes Butler, siblings, Minnie A. Scott Henderson (Queenie), Yvonne Black (Bon Bon), Gwendolyn Butler (Gwennie), David H. Butler (uncle Dave), daughters Jodi Lee Butler, and Lisa Ann Butler and grandson Micheal C. Shammos. He is survived by Mildred Butler (Mittie), Andrew Butler (Andy), Rose Ellen Sargeant (Rosie), Peter Butler and Molly Butler. Children Carroll W. Butler (Mann), Shane Vaczy, Joshua Butler and Michelle R. Corliss, grandchildren Justin Shammos, Jessica Anderson, Shane Vaczy Jr., Sarah Vaczy, Aiden Butler, James Butler, Ruthie Butler, Charlotte Butler, Taylor C. Sanborn (T) Richard A. Sanborn (Rich), and Spencer M. Corliss (Boy). Many, many, many nieces and nephews, and hundreds of friends.
A celebration of life party will be held at a later date.
