Bradley B. Bennett



OBIT - BennettBASS HARBOR—Bradley B. Bennett, 79, husband of Phyllis Bennett, of Bass Harbor, passed away peacefully in his sleep with family members by his side on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Bradley was born on June 14, 1935, in Montclair, N.J., the son of Ellie Francis Bennett.

A plumber by trade, Bradley loved the art of painting, his dogs Navajo and Daisy, attending the Fryeburg Fair, camping with Phyllis in Florida, square-dance calling and storytelling. As a life-long Jehovah’s Witness, he enjoyed being on the plumbing crew during construction of Kingdom Halls. Bradley drove the Island Explorer, relating the history of Mount Desert Island to tourists on the bus with a style all his own.

Bradley is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis J. Bennett; son, David, and wife, Connie, of Titusville, Fla.; son, Kevin, and wife, Julie, of Glenburn; daughter, Cheryl Bennett Neves, of Malden, Mass.; grandson Alex Barnhart of Trenton, grandson Korey Bennett of Bangor, and great-grandchildren Michael and Dominic. Bradley was predeceased by his mother, Ellie (Bennett) Rich, in 2005 and stepfather, Alvah Rich, in 2002.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2029 Broadway, Bangor. A reception will follow at the Edward K. Arey Community Center in Bucksport.
