Beverly Mae Frazier

Beverly Mae Frazier, 92, passed away peacefully Sept. 29, 2019, surrounded by family at the Sussman House in Rockport. Beverly was born Sept. 10, 1927, in Bar Harbor. She was the daughter of Blanche and Walter Cunningham.

For several years, Beverly worked as a switchboard operator at MDI Hospital, from where she retired in the late 1980s. In retirement, Beverly enjoyed card games with friends and family; she was always up for a lively game of skat or nickels. Beverly was an amazing knitter. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always the beneficiaries of her beautiful sweaters.

Nana, as she was known, was the matriarch of her family. Nana and Papa’s house was always the hub of all major holidays for the entire family. Nana had a way about her, to make all feel welcome and comfortable. She would prepare large meals for all and was known to cook the best corn chowder you’ve ever had. Nana’s family meant everything to her and she was sure to make sure everyone felt loved. She continued to comfort her family into her final moments; holding the hands of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son Bruce Freeman, siblings Walter Cunningham Jr. and Pauline Johnson.

Beverly is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert Frazier; her son Steve Freeman and wife, Justine, of Scarborough; daughter Kathy Conlogue and husband, John, of Thomaston; her daughter-in-law Christine Lussier of Wilmington, N.C.; stepchildren Mike Frazier and his wife, Kim (and family), of Bar Harbor and Beth Jewell and her husband, Duane (and family), of Franklin.

Nana’s grandchildren include Marla Jones, Todd Freeman, Kellie Russomano and her husband, Phil, Brice Freeman, Derrick Freeman, Kassie Audette and her husband, Adam, Morgan Benton and her husband, Max, and Melissa Freeman. Nana’s great grandchildren include Zachary Jones, Abigail Jones, Lucas Jones, Ella Russomano, Kyle Freeman, Jackson Russomano, Izayah Freeman, Lucian Audette and Heidi Benton. Beverly is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family is very grateful for the loving care provided by the Sussman House Hospice in Rockport, Maine.

A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019 at the Church of Our Father, 91 State Hwy 3, Hulls Cove, Maine. A private interment will be held at the Hillside Cemetery in Hulls Cove.
