Alice Lymburner Spicer (Watson)

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS/BAR HARBOR — Alice Lymburner Spicer (Watson) of Grapevine, Texas, went to be with her Lord on April 5, 2017, at the age of 87. Alice Watson Lymburner was the biological daughter of George S. Watson Jr. and Mary Sargent of Bar Harbor. After her father’s unexpected death, Alice L. Watson was legally adopted by Maurine and Hazel Lymburner of Lymburner Electric Co. in Bar Harbor. Alice went on to graduate from Bar Harbor High School in 1949.

Alice Watson Lymburner married Donald A. Spicer of Woburn, Mass., and in 2004 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in San Antonio, Texas, where the couple settled after Donald’s retirement from the USAF. Don and Alice had six children, 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Alice loved being a dedicated housewife, loving mother and grandmother. Alice loved her adopted parents, and stayed in touch with her biological family in Ellsworth and Hancock. Alice enjoyed spending time in her hometown of Bar Harbor. Alice was interred with her husband at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
