Alden Roy Carter



OBIT ISL-CarterBAR HARBOR — On April 7, 2016, Alden Roy Carter passed away at the age of 71 at the Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill, Mass., surrounded by his loving family. Alden graduated from Bar Harbor High School. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was deployed to Vietnam and Germany and achieved the rank of sergeant.

Alden’s family members include his son Eric and his wife, Meika, of Holderness, N.H., along with their two daughters Marissa and Eliza; his daughter Angela and her husband, Michael Chermak, of Warwick, N.Y., along with their two sons Elias and Gabriel; his three sisters Jean Harrington of Sunrise, Fla., Janet Hennigan of Trenton, and Lois Hennigan of Trenton.

Alden was born in Bar Harbor to Maurice and Virginia Carter. Alden was a loving and gentle brother, father, grandfather, and uncle. He loved to play games and loved spending time with his grandchildren and his nine nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held on April 9, 2016, with full military honors. Internment at Ledgelawn Cemetery in Bar Harbor will take place this summer. The Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home at 486 Main St., Haverhill, Mass., is assisting the family with the arrangements.
