Adrien E. Bowden


Adrien E. Bowden, 72, died Feb. 8, 2018, at EMMC in Bangor after a short battle with cancer. He was born Sept. 7, 1945, in Bar Harbor, the son of G. Thomas Bowden Jr. and Olga L. (Lindgren) Bowden.

Adrien graduated from high school and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy as a Sea Bee. During his time in the service, Adrien was with NMCB 7 in Vietnam. Adrien worked at the Jackson Lab for a number of years until his retirement. He spent many hours in his spare time at the Owls Head Transportation Museum, where he displayed his own antique car and tractors.

Adrien is survived by two brothers, G. Thomas Bowden III and wife Jackie and Paul D. Bowden of Bar Harbor. A nephew, David Bowden of Bar Harbor and three nieces, Julie B. Hall of Trenton, Elizabeth B. Murray of Pennsylvania and Taelor Bowden of Bar Harbor.

A private family service will be held at Ledgelawn Cemetery in Bar Harbor in the spring.
