Glenna A. Eliason

FALMOUTH – Glenna A. Eliason, 89, passed away on April 22. Glenna, daughter of Helen and Norman Greene, grew up in Westbrook. She graduated from Westbrook High School, and attended nursing school until she married her husband, Linwood R. Eliason, who predeceased her in 1987. They lived in Westbrook, on Sebago Lake, and then Somesville on Mount Desert Island. Following her husband‘s death, Glenna moved to Cumberland to be closer to her family. Glenna was humble, kind, and generous and dear to those who knew her. During her life she volunteered for her community and church. She was a member of the West Falmouth Baptist Church. Glenna doted on her sons-in-law. She took great joy in her granddaughters and great-granddaughters as well. “Gram” is survived by daughter Kris Lindsey, son-in-law Dave and granddaughter Emma of Cumberland; daughter Sandy Boland and son-in-law John of New Gloucester, and granddaughters Lindsay Grogan (and Matt) of Boston and Alexandra Boland (and Mike) of Dover, N.H. She had two great-granddaughters, Grace and Claire. The family would like to thank many special people for caring for Glenna over the past three years, including: her beloved Dr. Rhonda Kroll; the Palliative Care Team, doctors and nurses at Mercy Hospital; and her ‘family’ of wonderful caregivers at Foreside Harbor where she has resided for the past year, just to name a few. Visiting hours were held 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 24, at Wilson Funeral Home, 24 Shaker Road, Gray. Private burial was in Brooklawn Memorial Cemetery, 2002 Congress St., Portland. Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in Glenna’s memory could consider the following Palliative Care, Mercy Hospital, 144 State St., Portland, ME 04101 or the charity of one’s choice.
