BAR HARBOR —Telescopes donated by Celestron will be raffled to raise funds for the Acadia Night Sky Festival. Celestron is the manufacturer of the telescopes and presenting partner of the festival.
Prizes include the Astromaster LT 60AZ LT and the Travelscope 60, new telescope models that designed specifically for L.L. Bean, valued at $100 and $80 respectively. The grand prize winner will receive one of Celestron’s most popular and prestigious scopes, the Nexstar Evolution 6. Valued at $1200, the Nexstar Evolution 6 is considered one of the most user-friendly telescopes available and has lots of automated fixtures that can be run from a smartphone or tablet with the free Celestron app.
Raffle tickets are $5, or $50 for 11 tickets, and can be purchased from the festival’s website, www.acadianightskyfestival.com. Entrants must be 13 years or older. Winners will be announced on the last day of the festival, Monday, Sept. 29.
