BAR HARBOR — The owners of three tractor-trailer units being used for storage on a Main Street property lost a bid before the board of appeals Tuesday to gain more time to move them without running afoul of town code. Board of appeals chairman Ellen Dohmen told property owner Karl Norberg that only the planning board could grant such an extension. The board subsequently voted 5-0 to deny Norberg’s request for an extension.
Norberg and his wife, Pam Gleichman, have been subject to attention from the code enforcement office since last summer, when the owner of a $2.4 million waterfront property next door to them protested the presence of the trailers. Norberg said after the proceedings Tuesday that he has a plan in place to move the trailers to another location and will be doing so as soon as the ground dries out enough.
