Teen read week has sci-fi flair



BAR HARBOR — Jesup Memorial Library has announced a events geared for 12-14 year olds as part of Teen Read Week. The sci-fi theme for the week ties into the “Space Aliens Have Landed in Bar Harbor!” celebration.

On Wednesday, Oct. 22, test your knowledge of sci-fi/fantasy trivia, win prizes and enjoy refreshments.

On Thursday, Oct. 23, it’s Sci-Fi Story Night at the Jesup. Bring your favorite book to share. Miss Mae will also read sci-fi short stories, and snacks will be served. Discover your next favorite new book at our display, “If you like…, then you might like….”

Also that evening, learn more about “creating your own alien” to display on the Jesup lawn during the week of Oct. 26-31 as part of the “Space Aliens Have Landed in Bar Harbor!” celebration. Locals and visitors alike will be searching the town to record the most “alien sightings” and win a prize.

On Friday, Oct. 24, is sci-fi movie night.
