Subs to support D.C. trip

If you live on the island and want to help the eighth grade get to Washington, D.C., by letting them make you a tasty sandwich to eat while watching the big game, Kathleen LeMoine has the perfect solution: “Superbowl Sub time is here again — ham Italian, turkey, ham or veggie subs! Cheese and veggies are included unless otherwise indicated, and no condiments are used (gets the subs soggy). Sandwiches are $6 each. They will be calling to take your orders, but feel free to call them — Hailey, Zuzu or Michelle (974-9458). Orders need to be in by Tuesday, Jan. 30. The sandwiches will be delivered before the game starts on Sunday, Feb. 4.”

Donna Wiegle has shared two announcements with us: “There will be a dental clinic on Friday, Feb. 2, at the Mill Pond Health Center. Dr. Timothy Oh and the staff of Caring Hands of Maine will be here for the day. Please call their office at 667-6789 to schedule an appointment.” Also, Donna reminds seniors that Senior Bingo has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Feb. 6, from 12-1:30 p.m. In a similar vein, Tammy Tripler has reminded us that the postponed Senior Luncheon will take place on Thursday, Jan. 25.

Terry Staples has a grateful heart: “Thank you to all those who helped us unload at the food pantry recently. Sam and Ezra, you two make heavy things look light. Thank you to Dale, Sarah, Meghan, Joanna and Ben for walking over and to Heidi for going and not scaring me at all on the roads. And last but not least, thank you to Miss Izzy for killing all the bubbles in that pesky bubble wrap.”

Clay Savage has informed us that Praise and Prayer meetings take place on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Methodist Church. He said, “Hopefully, February will give better weather, and the meetings will not need to be cancelled. Remember, the meetings start at 6:30 p.m. and are open to everyone.”

Happy birthday to Caleb MacDonald, Sarah Joyce, Penny Craig, Tiffany L. Farley, Connie Banks, Jill Trask, Tammy Tripler, Benjamin Treadwell, Eric Alen Carlson and Annnette S. Joyce. Anniversary blessings to Galen and Jennifer Turner.
