School paving bid awarded

BAR HARBOR — The entrance drive and adjacent parking spaces at Mount Desert Island High School will be repaved this summer at a cost of about $298,000.

“It will be all the way from Eagle Lake Road, up past the school and around the turnaround in the back,” Principal Matt Haney said. “They are completely rebuilding part of it and just doing a partial reclaim on the rest.”

The school’s board of trustees last Thursday voted to award the paving job to the low bidder, K.J. Dugas Construction Company of Surry.
