Sawyer to trustees

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Michael Sawyer, who ran third in the race for two seats on the Southwest Harbor school committee earlier this month, will serve on the Mount Desert Island High School board of trustees, which is responsible for the school’s buildings and grounds.

There were no official candidates for one seat up for election this year. Sawyer received the most write-in votes, 13, and has agreed to serve. Each of the four MDI towns has three seats on the high school trustee board.
