Renovations continue

BAR HARBOR — The Town Council approved Town Manager Cornell Knight’s request Tuesday to allocate additional funds for a new phase of the municipal building renovation project.

The town took bids on the last phase of its $2.2 million bond to renovate the interior of the main floor of the building, Knight told councilors in a memo. Since some of those funds were redirected to the exterior renovation project, he proposed moving existing funds from other accounts.

They were undesignated Capital Improvement Program funds and funds remaining from a GIS printer/plotter purchase and an account for sidewalk improvements. The sidewalk account will be replenished over the next two years, Knight said.

Currently, the town is offering the windows removed from the renovation to town residents.
