Oops, he did it again

Our beloved Ken Dutille seems to have a penchant for cutting off fingers with his table saw; Crystal Morrison suggests that maybe he should be “cut off” from using the table saw! We send thoughts and prayers to Ken for a speedy recovery, a loving and nursing wife (you certainly have this with Pat!) and the wisdom to know that, for you, taking piano lessons might be preferable to having fun with table saws.

Desiree Grubbs delivers a ferry notice to us that there will be a propane trip on Friday, Oct. 21, with a limit on the number of vehicles and passengers for the 7:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. boats.

Bryan Hayes invites us to some pumpkin fun: “Please join us for a family pumpkin carving night at the Swan’s Island Church of God on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m. We’ll have prizes in different categories, games and snacks. Have really little ones who don’t need sharp objects? Have them paint a pumpkin. Join us for a great family night; we look forward to seeing you there!” For details, contact Bryan at 322-6847 or [email protected]

Gwen May reminds us that absentee ballots are available now through Nov. 3, unless there is a special circumstance that allows you to get one after that.

Gwen also informs us that Rick DuBois will be at the Atlantic fire station this Saturday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. “Rick will be on the island for those whose animals need rabies shots for the upcoming licensing year. Dog licenses for 2017 can now be sold. Here’s your chance to see Rick and get your pets current with their shots. He will also have his usual supplies for other ailments and flea/tick treatment as well. If you have a special need for your pet, please call his Dexter office so he can bring whatever is necessary. Dogs and cats are welcome.”
