On tap for Oktoberfest

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — It’s once again time to break out the steins and lederhosen: the annual Oktoberfest celebration at Smuggler’s Den Campground is scheduled for Oct. 10-11.

Sponsored by the Southwest Harbor-Tremont Chamber of Commerce, the event includes beer and wine tasting, music, food and games.

On Friday, Oct. 10, from 4-7 p.m. is a wine and cheese tasting. Admission is $15 per person or $27 per couple.

The next day, Saturday, is reserved for beer-lovers. Along with Maine brewers offering samples of their work, a number of local restaurants will be serving food, craftspeople will be displaying their wares, and music will be provided by the Peterson Project and duo Russell and Jeff. Attendees also can participate in a keg toss and beer-less pong tournament.

Tickets for Saturday are $30 and include ten tickets for samples of beer and a souvenir glass. For non-drinkers, admission is $10.
