Mount Desert Island natives earn collegiate honors



TEMPE, Ariz. — Rebecca Dangler, a Mount Desert native, received academic honors from Arizona State University by making the University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2014 semester.

Undergraduate students who earn 12 or more graded semester hours during a semester in residence at ASU with a GPA of 3.5 or higher are eligible for the Dean’s List. A notation regarding Dean’s List achievement appears on the unofficial transcript.

GENESEO, N.Y. — Anna Clifford from Mount Desert was named to the President’s List at The State University of New York at Geneseo for the fall semester 2014. To be on the list, a student must have achieved an A in all coursework while taking at least 12 credit hours.

SUNY Geneseo is a premiere public liberal arts college dedicated to developing socially responsible citizens with skills and values for a productive life.

WATERVILLE — Area students were named to the Dean’s List at Colby College for their outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester the 2014. The Dean’s List at Colby is highly selective, this fall reserved for students whose semester grade point averages were 3.68 or higher.

Nellie S. LaValle of Bar Harbor, Maine, a member of the Class of 2018, is the daughter of David LaValle of Bar Harbor, Maine and Heather Halliday of Hulls Cove, Maine, and attended Mount Desert Island High School.

Lucy E. Soucek of Bar Harbor, a member of the Class of 2018, is the daughter of Anne Rhode of Bar Harbor and Leo Soucek of Topsham, Maine, and attended MDI High.

CORVALLIS, Ore. — Amberosity T. Gott of Trenton has been named to the Oregon State University Scholastic Honor Roll for the fall term.

To be on the honor roll, students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work.

Gott, a sophomore from Trenton, was named to the honor roll with straight A’s. She is studying fisheries and wildlife science.
