Mill Pond Park playground finished

Christine Dentremont delivered some much-anticipated news: “The Mill Pond Park is finally ready for play. The wood chips were delivered this past week. Rock on, kiddos.” Many thanks go to all the helpers and donors for the new playground at Mill Pond Park. A very special thank you goes to Christine Dentremont for all her work and for seeing this multi-year project through to the end. You rock!

Chelsea Tripler informs us about the Bucks for Breakfast program sponsored by P.I.K. (People Interested in Kids). This program raises money for the Free Breakfast Program at the school and needs to raise $2,000 to help fund the program for another year. For each donation made, the donor will receive a hand-made deer ornament made by one of the children. Donations may be sent to P.I.K., P.O. Box 87, Swans Island, ME 04685. For any questions, contact Heidi Martin at 460-4437 or Karen Martin at 460-2482.

We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Vaughn Lewis Hopkins, who passed away on Oct. 28.

Donna Wiegle encourages us to participate in the walking program at the school: “Our walking program in the school gymnasium started Wednesday, Nov. 9. Walking days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 8:45-9:45 a.m. Please enter through the back gym door. Bring clean, dry shoes to change into for walking. All adults are welcome. It’s a great way to get exercise and some socialization over the long winter months.”

Speaking of exercise, don’t forget about the Community Thanksgiving this Friday, Nov. 18, at 5:30 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy birthday to Christine Harrington, Meghan Joyce, Bud Martin Jr., Jean-Jacques Cesbron, Becky Davis and Gary Hoyle. Anniversary blessings to Paul and Ruth Joy.
