MDI Toastmasters to host spring district conference



BAR HARBOR — MDI Toastmasters will host the District 45 Spring Conference at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Event Center May 20-22.

With a theme of “Energize, Motivate and Inspire,” the conference is a great opportunity to make friends and expand professional networks, and will feature educational sessions such as “Selling Yourself for Success” and “5 Simple Strategies to Achieve Your Goals with Confidence;” public speaking contests; and keynote speaker Sally Newel Cohen, chief operations officer of Toastmasters International and an expert in communications strategy and operational management.

MDI’s club is one of more than 20 in Maine. It recently received the President’s Distinguished Award and the Al Ferguson Memorial Award for achieving all 10 Distinguished Club Program Points and the Excellence in Leadership award for achieving two leadership designations and having at least four officers trained at Toastmaster Leadership Institutes each year from 2012 to 2015. Individual members have received numerous awards, too.
