MOUNT DESERT — From popovers and vibrant hats to stylish fashions, the eighth annual “Ladies Who Loonch” event for Camp Beech Cliff (CBC) was a success, raising $28,000 for the campership fund. The women gathered at the Asticou Inn for the annual benefit luncheon and fashion show, which gives needs-based scholarships to Hancock County families to send children to camp.
In addition to the luncheon, the event hosted a silent auction and fashion show featuring fashions by The Kimball Shop & Boutique, The Holmes Store and The Romantic Room. Susan Pope Hayes of Greenwich, Conn., and Jane Adams of Bernard, a former CBC board member, were presented with this year’s Pink Rose Award for their devoted service to camp and the children and families camp serves.
CBC is grateful for support from The Hinckley Company, Ashwood Consultants and FIORE Artisan Olive Oils and Vinegar for sponsoring the luncheon this year. “We are so grateful for the community support we have received for the campership program,” said Executive Director Debra Deal. “Because of the generosity of our sponsors and the women who participated in this year’s Loonch, we can provide the camp experience to local kids who could not otherwise attend camp.”
