MOUNT DESERT — Jill Goldthwait will give a talk titled “Cloudy with a Chance of Chaos: Maine’s Three-way Gubernatorial Race” at the Northeast Harbor Library on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 5:30 p.m.
Ms. Goldthwait is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and served in the Peace Corps in the South Pacific. She has lived on Mt. Desert Island since 1978. She worked as an RN at the MDI Hospital for 25 years. In addition, she served on the Bar Harbor Town Council for nine years, eight of them as chairman and four terms as an Independent in the Maine Senate. She was director of government relations at the Jackson Laboratory for nine years, retiring in 2012.
An award-winning political columnist for the Ellsworth American and the Mount Desert Islander, she serves on the boards of the Maine Seacoast Mission, Friends of Acadia and Educate Me.
