Help wanted and found

TREMONT – Seven people have applied for the job of harbormaster and nine for a bookkeeping position with the town, Town Manager Dana Reed told selectmen on Monday.

In response to the harbormaster applications, selectmen voted 5-0 to appoint board members Chris Eaton and Dean Wass to a search committee charged with finding a replacement for Greg Dow, who resigned earlier this year.

The bookkeeping job is open due to the resignation of Heidi Kelley, whose last day is May 29.

Selectmen appointed a new animal control officer. Heath Higgins was appointed unanimously. He is to be paid $280 per month and plans to start this week, Reed said.
