Free driver permit practice tests offered

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — In partnership with Driving-Tests.org, the Southwest Harbor Public Library is offering free Maine Driver Permit practice tests. These tests, for both automobile and motorcycle, along with the Driver Handbook for each, are available through the library’s website.

Driving Tests.org is an online educational learning site that offers free permit practice test services to teens and other potential drivers. Each practice test is based on the current year’s official Driver’s Manual so every learner driver can be sure they are receiving the most up-to-date test questions.

“Only a handful of libraries per state are accepted to offer this service; we are thrilled to be one of them,” said Assistant Director Kate Pickup-McMullin. “We feel anyone looking to get their driver’s license will benefit from this program. The tests are comprehensive and prepare the students thoroughly for the written part of the driver’s test. When they go to take the test in Ellsworth, they will feel well prepared and confident – and it’s free!”
