Foundation sets open studio

CRANBERRY ISLES — September Artists Fellows-in-Residence at the Heliker-LaHotan Foundation on Great Cranberry Island will open their studios to the public on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 4-6 p.m.

Painters Ellis Heyer of San Rafael, Calif., Linda Packard of Bangor and Judy Taylor of Southwest Harbor have been in residence at the foundation since Sept. 3.

The Open Studio events are free, and the public is invited for refreshments and to meet and view the artists’ work. Maps will be available to locate the studios on the island. Afternoon ferry boats are available from Northeast Harbor, Islesford and Southwest Harbor (Manset). The last ferry departs from Great Cranberry Island (GCI) to Northeast Harbor at 5:15 p.m. and from GCI to Southwest Harbor (Manset) at 5:20 p.m.
