Henry Lee is back in service and looking particularly fine with a beautiful wreath from Tammy Tripler. Thank you, Tammy, for this donation of your artistry.
Katelynn Riedel encourages us to help Chelsea Tripler raise money for her program “Cooking With Kids.” She says, “Right now, the program is only once a month because Chelsea is paying for it out of her pocket. The kids really enjoy her program, and to make it extra-special, Chelsea is trying to make enough money to get each kid his or her own apron and measuring cups/spoons. Also, she would like to have it more than just once a month, but to do so, she needs some donations.” Katelynn can be contacted at 266-0164 if you would like to donate to this worthy program.
Wade Shaefer informs us that Mr. Appliance will be out on Friday, Dec. 11, so if you have any residential appliances that need to be looked at or serviced, please let them know. “We service washers, dryers, refrigerators, ovens/stoves (both gas and electric) and dishwashers. If you wonder whether or not we would repair anything else, please ask, and we will let you know. You can call Kathryn at 922-3200 (the office). Mr. Appliance looks forward to serving you; thank you for allowing us the opportunity to diagnose and repair your appliances.”
Donna Wiegle keeps us moving this winter with the walking-at-school program. She announces, “Walking at the school started on Tuesday, Dec. 8. Walking days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:45-9:45 a.m. Please enter through the back gym doors and bring dry, clean shoes to wear. You cannot wear outside winter boots or anything that will leave melting snow/water on the gym floor. Bring a friend to walk with and offer a ride to someone who doesn’t drive. Please be respectful if students are having music lessons on the stage during the walking hour. Remember we, the walkers, are guests of the school. Thank you to Principal Heather Webster for providing us with this opportunity.”
Mark your calendars for the Swans Island School winter concert on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Also, don’t forget about the eighth-grade auction and dinner tonight, Dec. 10, at the school. Thanks to everyone who continues to support our kids in all their endeavors.
Happy birthday to Nancy Burns, Thomas Riedel and Marsha Douty Carlson.
