‘Energy Island’ has lessons for us

We thank Ann Marie Maguire for sharing with us her experiences on Samso, Denmark’s “Energy Island.” She presented a slide show last week at the library and has provided us with an online written narrative and numerous pictures. Many islanders have recently voiced Iver Lofving’s sentiment that “We might be able to learn something from the experience of this small island on the other side of the Atlantic that might make our energy system more sustainable.”

Congratulations to the newest library card holders that were “sworn in” on Wednesday, Oct 22. Candi Joyce informs us that Zoey, Lucia, Addy and Clara took the library card pledge and received their library cards and book bags. Peyton, Asa and Gabe received their cards and bags last year, and we anticipate Julia, Troy and Samantha receiving theirs in the near future.

Please contact Kimberly Haller at 526-4488 or [email protected] if you have questions or are unable to make this first meeting and would like to sing with the choir. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for The Community Christmas Gathering at the Baptist Church on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m.
