ELLSWORTH — The Hancock County Drug Free Communities Coalition will hold their next monthly meeting in Ellsworth City Hall on Monday, March 16, from 3:30-5 p.m. The meeting is free and open to the public.
An initiative of Healthy Acadia, the Drug Free Communities Coalition is a county-wide alliance of community members and organizations that are dedicated to educating and empowering youth, families and communities, and reducing the misuse of substances.
The coalition is currently working on a variety of activities to provide education about the risks and consequences of misusing substances and to reduce substance use. The group meets monthly and is actively looking for community members to join the effort. The coalition is guided by the input and needs of local residents and partners to help determine best strategies to address local challenges.
Growing the county-wide coalition and working collaboratively to solve local challenges around substance use is a powerful way to achieve long lasting community, policy and environmental change.
To get involved, please join the group at the meeting. Contact Denise Black at 667-7171 or [email protected].
