DeFrenn hangs show at ArtWaves

Some of Jessica DeFrenn’s artwork of the past year will be on exhibit at ArtWaves, 329 Main St., Bar Harbor on Saturday, May 9. For her senior project at MDI High School, she is learning how to promote and host her own art show, culminating with this exhibit. Jessica says that her works are for sale after the exhibit and that she hopes to see both familiar and new faces. Congratulations, Jessica. We are very proud of your accomplishments.

We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Bernard D. Chandler, who passed away March 21 in Augusta. Bernard was one of Roscoe and Mary Chandler’s sons, and he spent many years of his childhood at the Burnt Coat Harbor Light Station on Swans Island, where his father was the lighthouse keeper. Bernard was interviewed by Donna Wiegle for her DVD “Living at the Lighthouse – Chandler Family Tales.”
