Cranberry Isles: Community revelry

A bit of snow before Christmas had many hoping for the seasonal ground cover for the Christmas holiday but rain and warm weather intervened. Oh well, maybe next year.

The Cranberry Isles and Islesford Post Offices are closed on Christmas Day and on New Year’s Day as well. Regular business hours will resume on Wed, Dec. 26 and on Wed, Jan. 2. Happy New Year.

January 2019 birthdays begin with Fran Pocaro on Jan. 1. Happy birthday Fran, and we all look forward to seeing you next summer on Cranberry. Our own teacher and friend, Audrey Noether celebrates her birthday on Jan. 3. All the best. Sarah Dawson and Kristie Porcaro share Jan. 7 with lots of birthday wishes for both. Happy birthday to Harvey Bunker on Jan. 8 and to Turner Edward Graeme Day on Jan. 10. Islesford twins Robin and Fritz Fernald have their birthday on Jan. 11, and Anna Fernald will celebrate her birthday on Jan. 14 with her family and many friends. Happy birthday Anna and best wishes to all.

“We spend Jan. 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives … not looking for flaws, but for potential.” -Ellen Goodman, American Journalist (1941)
