ELLSWORTH — The Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation District invites applications for environmental stewards through AmeriCorps.
Successful applicants will work on projects this summer. Projects include water quality work, erosion control experience, surveying and invasive aquatic plant studies.
This is a 900-hour term from May through November that includes a living allowance of $6,240 ($260/week for 24 weeks), and if eligible, an AmeriCorps education award of $2,822 upon successful completion of the program. Other benefits include student loan forbearance, experiential learning, a wide range of training and networking opportunities and a Maine State Park Pass.
