Church parsonage sold

MOUNT DESERT — The United Church of Christ of Northeast Harbor & Seal Harbor has sold its former parsonage at 80 Summit Road in Northeast Harbor.

This home, with affordable housing covenants placed on it, was sold to a local family meeting the criteria established by the congregation. These covenants, developed in consultation with the Law Offices of Nathaniel Fenton, allowed the home to be offered at an affordable price to a year-round family.

According to Joseph F. Cistone, trustee chair, “An important aspect of the congregation’s mission is serve the year-round community. With the sale of this home, we can help to secure the vibrancy of our local villages by providing housing allowing our workforce to live and work here.”

The home was listed with Carter’s Real Estate, and financing was provided by Bar Harbor Savings and Loan.
