Celebrate island arts and artists

Kaitlyn Duggan was at the Maine College of Art for an art show. Beautiful mugs, bowls and other items sold well.

With a good selection of jewelry available, Barb Shirey Fernald was at the Island Arts Association’s 40th Annual Holiday Craft Fair on Friday and Saturday. Cranberry Isles visitors and patrons included Kate Chaplin, Frances Blank, Nancy Jones, Eve Harrison, Joanne Thormann, Chris Sandberg, Gretchen Westphal, Sheila Krasnow, Denise McCormick and Cindy White.

Holiday decorations are popping up all over the island with the Sanborn’s, Corson’s, Richard’s, wreaths on the church and Aid building, lights at one of the new Cranberry Isles Realty Trust houses, and the miniature holiday scene at the GCI Post Office on display. If you happen to be boating by the Cranberry Island Town Dock, take a gander at the lighted tree welcoming folks to the island. Merry Christmas all. We are a festive group!

Tom Powell has had two morning prayer services for advent. The services are at 7 a.m., and people from Great Cranberry can go with Tom on the commuter boat. Communion is offered after morning prayer for those who would like it; the services are finished in time for the 8:15 a.m. mailboat.

This year’s Santa Supper will be on Islesford at the INH on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 5 p.m. It will be a potluck event. More details to follow.
