Has camera, will shoot

I encourage everyone to check out Amelia Brooke Joy’s new Facebook page for Swan’s Island Photography. This beautiful lady has an eye for beauty! She shared this with us: “Hi friends! Just trying to get the word out that I am putting my camera to good use. Swan’s Island Photography is open for portrait sessions (senior photos, maternity, newborn, etc.), family photos, couple and engagement sessions, and weddings and events. I am definitely not a professional, just a hobbyist, but I enjoy what I do and would like to offer the community an option to meet any simple photography needs they might have. If you are interested, contact me for details by private message, email [email protected], cell 479-5716 or by text. Thanks!”

We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Eleanor S. Walker, who passed away on Sunday, Jan. 21, in Orono. We send special thoughts out to Kevin and Serena Walker and their children upon this loss.

We also extend our condolences to the family and friends of Margaret H. (Pam) Welch upon her death this past December. Pam was a longtime resident of Red Point Road, and she is missed by many who enjoyed her summer visits and her paintings. I thank Nancy Tierney for alerting me to the news of Pam’s passing.

Leah Staples announced: “This week, adult volleyball will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1. Come out and have some fun!”

Rick DuBois sent us some exciting news: “I wanted to announce with the new year that we will try our first veterinary clinic in 2018 at the old Dick Holmes house at 249 Minturn Road. Please pass the word around to friends with pets, so they know to go there instead of the Fire Hall in Atlantic. I also need to correct a scheduling error on my part. If there is enough snow in Greenville, I have promised to be veterinarian on location for the annual 30-mile dog sled event on Feb. 3. To avoid last minute changes, I will have the clinic on Swans Island the following Saturday, Feb. 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please call the Dexter office at 924-3462 with questions or special needs so I can be sure to serve your companion properly. As always, I will offer just the rabies vaccination for dogs for $15 to qualify them for licensing. I look forward to seeing you at our new location! It will be fun!”

Happy birthday to Fiona Abigail Robinson, Phoebe Adelle Robinson, Steven Gardner, Teressa Rozenski, Zuzunnah LeMoine, Erika Rhile, Shepard Kaelan Walker, Dennis Tapley, Steve Wheaton, Lotti Belle Uber and Howard Dentremont. Anniversary blessings to Jason and Jamie Matthews and Jim and Sharon Stone.
