TREMONT — The Bass Harbor Memorial Library in Bernard is celebrating women artists this month with an exhibit of local talent. A reception will be held on Thursday, March 19, from 4:40-6 p.m.
Participating artists have contributed works that speak to the experience of traveling, journeying and growth.
Artist Kathi Pratt represents the Trail of Tears, the westward journeys of pioneer women and the Underground Railroad in an interactive display. Nancy Hamblen meditates on the journey of sea glass. Becca Paine and Priscilla Keene interpret places they have travelled. Jean Forbes compares two works to portray her journey as an artist. Carey Donovan displays images and text from her family’s years as missionaries in India.
