Acadia Choral concerts coming up

Your large dose of peace and harmony is only a ticket away. I am the Acadia Choral Society’s assistant director and accompanist and am pleased to announce its annual holiday concert next weekend at St. Saviour’s Church in Bar Harbor and the following weekend at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Ellsworth.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, at St. Saviour’s, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. The program carries the theme “Peace and Harmony,” and highlights include Jon Washburn’s “Dona Nobis Pacem” and Craig Courtney’s “A Musicological Journey Through The Twelve Days of Christmas.”

Tickets are available at Sherman’s Books & Stationery (Bar Harbor), Fiore Artisan Olive Oils & Vinegars (Bar Harbor), the Southwest Harbor Public Library, the Northeast Harbor Library, the SevenArts Gallery (Ellsworth), from chorus members and at the door.

We have received word from Port Captain Daniel McNichol that the Captain Henry Lee ferry will be out of service until approximately the end of November. Undergoing maintenance, the boat has been replaced by Everett Libby.
