BAR HARBOR — Acadia Senior College’s Food for Thought program hosts Cookie Horner and Jack Russell, co-chairs of the Acadia Centennial Task force, will share highlights of this 2016 celebration at Birch Bay Village on Friday, Nov. 20, at noon. The also will discuss the ways in which the centennial celebrates the past and inspires the future.
2016 marks the 100th anniversary of the federal conservation of the land that became Acadia National Park. More than 200 Acadia Centennial Partners will offer scores of activities that convey to the world the significance of these landscapes conserved for all by the labor and love of so many people over the last century.
All Food for Thought events are open to the public. The lecture from noon to 1 is free, but a hot buffet lunch that costs $11 is available at 11:30 a.m. Reservations are required for either. Contact the Acadia Senior College office at 288-9500 or at [email protected].
